Who is Clara Franklin?

My life’s work is deeply rooted in the interconnectedness between all living things.

Pushing the boundaries of physicality, curiosity, and athleticism, I devise harmonious spectacles collaboratively for all to enjoy.

Clara Franklin (They/She) is a dancer originally from the Connecticut shoreline and is now based in Brooklyn, New York.

They studied at The Institute of The Arts Barcelona, Graduating with a BA (Hons) in Contemporary Dance in 2024, and previously received a BA in Dance from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. As a mover they are expansive, adaptive, and detail oriented.

With a technical foundation from Gloria Govrin at Eastern Connecticut Ballet, Clara challenges performer aesthetics through gender expression on and off the stage. In New York City they have performed at City Center, Gibney Blackbox Theater, and Greenspace. Constantly seeking diverse, unexpected, and intimate opportunities, she soaks up experiences like a sponge.

Clara’s artistic values include interdisciplinary and immersive work, storytelling and community, and diva drama realness. Through various shows and processes, Clara has worked as rehearsal director, co-producer, stage manager, dancer, model, and actress.
